This full-on renovation began with felling precarious hemlock trees and milling them into lumber for the new porches. Then, we stabilized the foundation, replaced, re-chinked and re-stained rotten dovetail logs, replaced the roof, rebuilt the stone chimney and staircase. Next, we gutted the inside, re-framed, reconfigured electric and plumbing systems, added open-cell insulation, thermal windows, and a bathroom. We finished the cabin by installing a local maple V-groove cabinets,ceiling and wainscoting, red oak flooring, winder staircase, authentic earthen plaster walls, and custom marble counters. Lastly, we sculpted a beautiful country landscape. |
